So I’ve completely been neglecting my blog

And it might be because of a boy. A little bird just told me that my blog is posing as instagram, so I think I’m going to go back and edit some posts. Add some words. You know, write? But yeah, back to the boy. He’s pretty grand, but he leaves me with very little time for blogging. Like now for instance. I just got in from a run, I’d love to blog and creep tumblr all day, but I have to shower, get some work done, then we’re going out for some classy eats at a romantic italian restaurant. Annnnnnd, swoon.

So, sorry tumblr. I’m kinda just living my life instead of blogging about it. But I’ll try to keep you posted.

I love ‘baseball.’ Edit: So this is me going back in time (again) and recapping what all these instagrams are about. This was taken Friday. My cousin from Thunder Bay is a big shot lawyer now who comes to Toronto for literally 18 hours. He flew in Friday morning for a hearing and flew out after the baseball game. But luckily he’s not so important that he can’t make time for me!
I took him to Real Sports Bar but it was PACKED. I’ve never been in that place when there wasn’t a jillion people crammed into it. Although, they seemed to have a lot of ‘reserved’ tables, which is kinda ridiculous. We’re willing to drink your beer, AND pay for it, and you can’t give us a table? And unfortunately my devilish charm (ha) didn’t work. So we ended up just finding another bar down the street, but it was all good. (If you have the means to check out Real Sports Bar, dooo it. It’s huge. And there’s a ton of TVs. And one massive TV that borders on jumbo-tron sized. Seriously. Go.)After some good eats and a pitcher (or two) we headed to the Jays game! I friggen love live baseball games. We bought some amazing seats from a scalper ^^, they were perfect. So we drank, we watched a mediocre game (The Sox pitcher was on fire and the Jays couldn’t seem to get it together), watched a PG-13 streaker that was thoroughly entertaining. Also, lots of cousinly (word?) bonding and talking, laughing etc. GTs y’all.
Then he hopped in a cab for the airport and I met up with some of my buds from home. We proceeded to get belligerent, hit the bars and then a strip club. Ya. Haha. That was interesting. I liked their outfits!! But yeah. So gay.

Summer loving.
Edit: So this is Joe’s patio, where I’ll be spending a lot of my summer. As you can see, it’s pretty perfect. We put up some Christmas lights that look fantastic, they’re of the incandescent variety, not the dumb LED variety. It’s just so peaceful. My apartment is pretty close to downtown and I’m on a busy street, so it’s always loud. I also have no proper back yard/anywhere where I could hang out without fear of getting shivved. So thankfully, this little oasis is a bit outside of the city (But still a 20 minute walk). It’s so tranquil, and you can see so many stars from the roof just above this patio.
Seriously, it’s like a movie set. Ballin.

Baking cookies like a baller. Raspberry cookies and cream.
Edit: This is the boy. Some nights we bake cookies together. This night (possibly Wednesday?) we took a stroll the his local market, bought some fresh veggies and made some delicious fajitas. Obviously no dinner can go without dessert, and lacking any of the pre-made variety we decided to get our hands dirty and make some cookies from scratch. We’re pretty domestic, fuck gender role stereotypes!

NYC Dreamin in Toronto
Edit: This past weekend was Doors Open Toronto, a very cool concept that opens up usually closed doors to the public. We strolled around all day, seeing some really fascinating building in the process. We’re both pretty big architecture buffs/fans, so we had a blast. The observation floor of City Hall was open, we saw the Canada Life Building, the Campbell House, the Design Exchange located in the old stock exchange, the really cool vault in One King West, and a bunch of other places. We lunched. We laughed. We smiled. We went back to his place and barbecued burgers and sat on his roof under the stars. In the morning we got breakfast and went to Value Village. All in all, I think it was a 26 hour date, which is pretty epic.
It’s nice being a tourist in your own city. I don’t do it often, and I imagine I’m not alone. So go see your city! So many neighbourhoods/nooks/crannies that one too often just passes by.
This has been Advice, with Riley.

Poor Jerkules

Poor Jerkules

Forever

Today I lost the only man I’ve ever loved, and he wasn’t technically a man. His name was Molson, a 12 year old bearded collie puppy that never really grew up, and although some will readily deny this, he was the best dog in the world. He wasn’t a Lassie. He didn’t catch criminals or guide the blind. He couldn’t even play fetch that well, having never really gotten the concept of returning the ball.

No, Molson wasn’t a hero. He was an asshole. A jerk. He knew how to push your buttons and he knew how to get what he wanted. He had us trained within a month of joining the family. Regardless, Molson loved us. And he took care of us. In comparison he gave infinitely more than he took. He was there for you.

He’s seen the best of our family and he’s seen the worst of us. He’s seen break-ups, shake-ups and fuck-ups. But he’s also seen a family grow up and come together. He was right there growing with us.

A piece of you will remain in my heart forever. I freaking love yah bud, miss you already.

Update

 • Went to Mount Pleasant Cemetery yesterday, then walked to Casa Loma, then walked home. Probably a good 15km by the time my day was over.
 • Going to meet some friends on Queen West then heading to the Toronto islands for some fun-in-da-sun.
 • Might have met someone slash have a date.
 • Possibly going to the bars tonight but I’ll have fun because it’s with some swell people.
 • I think that’s it.
 • I got 8 new albums yesterday. Making my summer playlist and I’m pumped.

Buyyyy

For the Queen!

So this weekend is a long weekend up in Oh Canada, celebrating Queen Victoria, Ma gurrl <333 !!

I keep hearing explosions coming from outside. If I was home in Toronto I’d be worried that it was the gangs* but I’m at my parents house and I know it’s just fireworks. Happy May 2-4 everyone! I know it’s not even the 24th yet, but we can drink for Victoria anyway!

Also this chardonnay is fantastic.

Also I’ve almost finished this bottle of chardonnay.

Also, chardonnay is a great word. Say it with me, charrrr-donnnn-ayyyy.

*We don’t even have gangs in Toronto.

I’m a little intoxicated.

I wore a blue blazer to a ‘White Party’Luckily I was allowed in.
